SANDRO – Parisian Attitude with An Urban Aesthetic – Three Reasons Why
Hello Friends! Ca va? Welcome to the third instalment of Three Reasons Why. This month it’s the turn of the super cool Parisian mid-range designer label SANDRO PARIS. I’m going to get right to the point here and say that I think French label Sandro produce some of the best clothes around today on the High Street and online. WHY?
- Their seasonal edit is always exciting and clever – designed seemingly with a view to being able to mix and match most of the collection. There is something so ‘complete’ about their capsule edits. Details used in one piece are then replicated elsewhere in a jacket or a jumper – little stamps of uniqueness that set them apart and make the clothing so unmistakably Sandro (and lustworthy).
- The range is broad and versatile. Broderie Anglais dresses, high necked guipure lace blouses in bold colours, fierce slogan sweatshirts and tees and some of the best knitwear you will *ever* purchase. Similarly, beautifully tailored jackets and outerwear are investment pieces at Sandro. Perfect if you want the Parisian masculine/feminine aesthetic that many of our Gallic sisters so excel at. Also Sandro’s graphic trainers are fierce and fashion forward – just look at their iconic Flame sneakers if you want evidence.
- Sandro’s knitwear is simply outstanding in cut, heft and quality. I know we’re heading firmly into spring now, but there’s always call for a jumper well into early May here in the British Isles. It’s worth paying for good knitwear that you can wear again and again and Sandro’s colour palette is often unusual and forward thinking.
I’m lucky to be in the possession of three items from this label now (all purchased in the sale of course). A beautifully patterned summer dress with the most flattering drape, a jacquard knitted co-ord consisting of matching stirrup leggings and jumper with a sporty vibe. And finally what I’m wearing in this feature – a knitted navy A-line dress with white piping. This dress featured a lot in the press just before Christmas and I was able to nab it in the January sales half price. Result!
Have a lovely weekend everyone. X
