The Knit Dress as Winter Wardrobe Essential
Knit dresses should be de rigeur in any woman’s wardrobe. Why? They are by far the best ways to be dressy, feminine and more importantly WARM in the winter months. They are a great base layer, a neutral start you can add to and accessorize ad infinitum in the Winter. On those dreary white cloud days of the endless British winter, when you DON’T want to wear your joggers and puffer jacket again, they are a godsend. Listen – you’ll thank me come February when you walk out the door feeling fine and looking like Monica Belluci in Spectre, ok?
In this blog post, I’m showcasing a black fitted dress and an unusual pink version (black is fitted, the pink is flared) – both from Mango (Black Friday sales babes). So versatile, such fun and so much mix and match here – hours of combinations. Read on mes Amies for more.
I love this flattering pink Mango dress (Link Here) with all black accessories. It makes for a smart, sleek look. Ideal for work or even a low key night out. Adding the cornflower blue Zara coat makes for a bright and different outfit. Unusual colour combinations and tones are always fashion forward too.
In the Black
This fitted black knit dress again from Mango ( Link Here) is so comfortable and flattering on. It clings in all the right places and is really well made. It is form fitting but you’re covered up and I love the sleeve shape – makes it look more expensive than it is. Both dresses I’ve accessorised with a vintage black belt and a Kenneth Jay Lane at The Outnet chunky black chain necklace. This adds boldness to what could be a flat look. In fact the beauty of knit dresses is that they can take big jewellery and belts or can be totally pared back for something more minimalist. My favourite outfit is the black dress and the Blue Zara coat – it’s kind of bold and brazen. Think 1980s supermodel in an Issac Mizrahi ad and you’ll know what I mean. 😉
Aside from Mango and Zara, other great shops currently for knit dresses are All Saints and Arket.
Happy New Year friends – stay warm and stylish! xxx
